Blog Post #3- CCR
My Critical Creative Reflection:
At the end of filming, we were given the assignment of answering four different questions which was turned into our critical creative reflection (CCR). For each question we had to try and come up with different media styles to answer them. While the CCR's were very time consuming I believe that I scored pretty well on them and I am proud.
To answer the first question, I put together a small two slide powerpoint for pictures with a VoiceOver. For the pauses in-between the two pictures I inserted videos of myself talking and answering the questions. I also put in little clips from my film that demonstrated what I was talking about. There were also features of some interviews that helped with supporting or challenging the different social groups and issues that were represented in my film. During the first question I thoroughly answered the question and showed how my product uses those issues. In my opinion, this was the best out of the four CCR's.
For the second question, I took interviews from three different age groups and took an even amount of female and males, asked them the same questions and used it to reflect on my film. When putting it together I showed the question that was being asked and then took a few of my interviewees and their responses. At the end, I put my final perspective on what I was given and reflected on my film. These interviews helped me understand more on what I can do to improve my film. A big take away that I plan to use on this years film, is to gain more of a male audience. This means to include more things that will interest men so male figures or sports and video games. This way I gain a wider audience and appreciation for my film.
CCR question three was answered with a screen recording and VoiceOver. To edit my film, I used the app IMovie (which I plan to help this year) so my film was saved over time even when I finished. I decide this question would be easily answered by just taking the graders step by step on what I did. In this VoiceOver it was explained why certain clips were used, how the sound was inserted, how dialogue was overplayed and how credits were inserted. Time jumps were used throughout my film opening to save time on what viewers were watching and it was explained in the VoiceOver why I did that. Before filming, I did not know how to do a sound overlay so that was something I had learned and am excited to carry over into this years project.
While the four Critical creative reflections were challenging and time consuming, I am content that I have them now. This allows me for future opportunities to reflect on my past project so I know what to improve this time around to gain higher scores.
