Blog Post #32- Soundtrack
When it comes to my film, I have some flashbacks where there is no dialogue. To prevent just silence, I will be inserting songs for the background. The purpose of the flashbacks is to create a nostalgic feeling for the protagonist; Mia. Especially because we will be looking back on her life and what it use to be. This means the music has to correlate with the intended mood.
Songs I am considering using are:
Forever young by Alphaville
Slipping through my fingers by ABBA
Scott Street by Phoebe Bridgers
I know the end by Phoebe Bridgers
River and roads by The Head and The Heart
While I will not be using all these songs, they all have nostalgic meaning behind them that they fit in perfectly with my scene. The one I will 100% be using is "Forever Young" by Alphaville. This song is about growing up and looking back on your life. It leads you to appreciate being young because growing up is scary. The chorus of this song is what I will be using throughout my film. The other songs all represent the feeling meant to be spread, I am just unsure how well it will fit in my film.
