Blog Post #37- Capturing the postcard
Planning the postcard took multiple different photos, angles and locations. We took multiple at each location that way I had different things to work with. When it came to the postcard I was unsure if I wanted to capture their bond as best friends or if I wanted to capture the scene before the accident.
After taking some as best friends, I liked the pictures but I was unsure on if it captured what I wanted. The vibe of the film is supposed to be more tragic and sad, but when my two main actors are smiling and happy with each other it portrays a more happy short film.
We then decided to do car accident pictures:
These two pictures are behind the scene shots when working towards the final one. The first picture they were planning their face on what they were going to do. The second one was captured mid pulling out of the driveway. If we kept the car in the driveway you were able to tell that they were not on a road but instead in a driveway.
Final picture project:
I am content with how the final image came out. If we waited until it was dark out you would not be able to see the characters. By doing it at night time and taking the picture from the side you were able to see the facial expressions and body language of the two actors.
