Blog Post #51- Testing different angles
Practice shots:
The point of this scene is to try and capture my three characters walking away. To do this I wanted to practice two different shots. An overhead shot and an establishing shot. Shot one is an overhead shot since I am capturing the scene above the characters. The second shot is an establishing shot since I am "establishing" the people in the scene.
The first shot (overhead) captures the characters but also the area around. While filming I am stationary and instead of tracking them. This gets them walking farther into the distance. The second shot (establishing) only focuses on the three characters rather then the area around them. However, a problem with the establishing shot is it makes the scene feel more crowded. They are just close together and the lighting is poor.
For my film to be at the best quality, I am choosing to go with the overhead shot. Throughout my film, I do not include many overhead shots so this gives a change in angles and still demonstrates my point.
